JSX Technology installed NOPTIC NV3 PSV-3000 Nighttime Optical Thermal Imaging Camera Systems on two Huachuca City Police Department vehicles on July 1, 2016. These cameras were purchased using funds from a Stone Garden Grant (OPSG). The patrol vehicles: A new Ford Explorer and a 2012 Dodge Charger, were equipped with state-of-the-art NOPTIC Thermal Imaging Cameras that greatly enhance an officers chances of spotting subjects in the darkness of the night. The police officers can analyze the surroundings from the safety of their own vehicles. The NOPTIC camera is situated atop the standard Unity spotlight housing with video feed directly to the USB port on the in-vehicle laptop, allowing the officer to pan and tilt the camera as needed. Surveillance videos can be saved and stored with a date stamp – providing a great evidence tool in court settings at a later date.
Huachuca City Police Officer Christopher Thompson, who was nice enough and welcomed our Installation crew, even though he worked the night shift stated that his Department will be looking for more funding in order to equip the remaining cars with NOPTIC Thermal Imaging Cameras.
More and more Police Departments across Arizona are getting their Patrol Vehicles equipped with NOPTIC which is a definite prof that this Night Vision System is solid, robust and easy to operate.
